Dear Distinguished Guests, Presenters and Participants,

As the Director of the Institute of Climate Change (IPI), I would like to welcome all participants to the 2023 6th AOSWA (Asia‐Oceania Space Weather Alliance) Workshop.

We are excited to gather here for the AOSWA workshop that’s all about exploring space weather. This workshop is a platform for researchers, educators, students, and industry experts to share ideas and push the boundaries of what we know. This workshop is your chance to connect with others, learn from experts, and spark new ideas that could shape the future of space weather.

I would like to thank the co-host, the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) for trusting us to host this workshop. A big thank you to everyone who’s made this workshop possible: the steering organizing committee (SOC), local organizing committee (LOC), speakers, presenters and participants. The 6th AOSWA (Asia‐Oceania Space Weather Alliance) Workshop, which is co-organized by the Space Science Centre (ANGKASA) under the Institute of Climate Change (IPI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT).

We are pleased with the participation from various local and international research institutions as well as institutions of higher learning especially from Asia-Oceania countries. This workshop will provide an opportunity in which various communities can come and discuss recent achievements of observational, theoretical, modeling, forecasting, and application addressing the aforementioned areas. We hope this workshop will create opportunities for more research collaborations and networking- taking advantage of special characteristics of the Asia-Oceania upper atmosphere region.

We would like to thank our Keynote Speakers and Invited Speakers for making time to deliver their talks in this workshop. Our deepest appreciation also goes to the Conveners of each session for your commitment and contribution to making this workshop a success.
