Managing The Future : The Making of a Sovereign Development Fund

MANAGING THE FUTURE : The Making Of A Sovereign Development Fund

Ideas about effective business leadership constantly evolve in response to political events, economic policies, changing business strategies, and cultural and societal norms. Nowadays, organisations are held to have a wider responsibility and more accountable to society in general.

As the notion of social responsibility takes a more significant role in today’s economy, corporate leaderships are becoming more strategic in aligning CSR initiatives to support the long-term economic interests of the business as well as the social objectives.

In this sense, nation building and business building may not necessarily be mutually exclusive as today’s corporate leaders are continually tasked to focus on the bearing of their businesses on the local economy and community, as well as society at large. For instance, in addressing shifting market demand for higher quality of life, greater inclusion in economic activities and bigger participation in democratic spaces, it is indispensable for corporate leadership to strategically rethink and redefine the value that embraces a much broader range and longer term shared value with stakeholders and the society at large.

In this light, the theme attempts to share aspiring thoughts, insights and strategic action of corporate leadership beyond business boundary towards betterment of the society at large and the nation.
