Faculty of Health Sciences of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia will host i-sihat 2022 on August 24-25, 2022. This biennial international conference with a theme of Embracing Resilience in the COVID-19 Pandemic: Health Sciences to the Forefront is timely with our struggle amidst the Covid-19 pandemic thus it is empirical to be resilience as our coping mechanism. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a detrimental global impact on the health and well-being of a wide range of populations. In March 2020, very early on in the COVID-19 pandemic, health authorities were forced to take unprecedented transformative actions within health systems as they sought to respond to a raging and devastating epidemiological, economic and social phenomenon. Thus, the focus of this conference will be on gathering views and evidence of how countries have managed (or not managed) to re-engineer what they do, who does what and how, and draws out the implications for embracing resilience.

The conference will convene health sciences leaders and experts from across disciplines to share their best and latest evidence-based practices in improving self-care, which in turn will transform healthcare which, I hope provides exciting opportunities for bridging science and application and for the establishment of fresh dialog and new collaboration . At this year’s meeting, we have an excellent set of workshops and special sessions, many of which provide state-of-the-art training on issues related to inclusion. With an outstanding scientific program on tap, I hope you find this year’s meeting invigorating and mind-expanding. For this year’s virtual summit, we are hoping to translate our content into a user-friendly, seamless virtual environment. As we offer a low registration fee, we welcome all of you to join us from the comfort of your homes and workplaces across the country. In addition, please encourage your colleagues who are looking for thought-provoking and inspirational content from national and international experts to join us and engage in our conference.

This year’s meeting is being held in conjunction with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The faculty has arranged such a wide array of activities to commemorate our standings as Malaysia’s leading Leaders of Health Sciences, and this conference is the peak of the celebration.
