No Show Policy

Each paper must be presented by an author of the paper in person at the conference. The TPC Chairs may grant requests for permission to have the paper presented by a substitute presenter under certain circumstances. A request for a substitute presenter must be sent to the TPC Chairs in advance before the conference date. The author, co-author or representative of the papers would be required to be present during the Q&A session and must be ready to answer any questions from the virtual audience.

Authors of no-show papers wishing to appeal the no-show status of their paper must appeal by email to the IconSpace 2023 organising committee (iconspace@ukm.edu.my), no later than 30 days after the start of IconSpace 2023 and provide evidence to convincingly demonstrate that their absence was as a result of forces beyond their will and control or that an erroneous decision was made. Possible evidence for exceptions includes:

  • Medical documents
  • Death notices

In addition to this policy, the main author of the paper is not allowed to add or drop a co-author when the papers were accepted for publication.
