Research in IKMAS
IKMAS conducts basic, applied and strategic research within the framework of "Globalization and Social Transformation". Within this ambit, the following are the research thrusts in IKMAS:
Income distribution, poverty and social safety nets;
Governance, competitiveness and international trade;
Regionalisation and regionalism;
Rethinking about the nation, state, society and development;
Transnational movement and the politics of identity, religion and culture.
Research in IKMAS is conducted at the Institute, cluster and individual levels. All IKMAS Fellows are involved with the Institute level research while cluster research projects involve at least one IKMAS fellow with other researchers from within UKM or outside UKM. Fellows also conduct individual research projects within their own disciplines.
