Since 2013, he has been a Full Professor in Department of Physics, Middle East Technical University. His research interests include scanning probe microscopy: non-contact atomic force microscopy, scanning hall probe microscopy, and graphene hall sensors and devices. He is the recipient of T\u00dcB\u0130TAK Research and Encouragement Award (2002) and Research and Encouragement Award \u2013 Mustafa N. Parlar Foundation (1993). He has authored\/coauthored more than 95 journal articles and book chapters. His publications have been cited more than 1500 times (H-index is 22) according to the Scopus database. Besides, he is also the founder of several nanotechnology-based companies, including NanoSis Ltd. (2005), NanoManyetik Bilimsel Cihazlar (1999) and NanoMagnetics Instruments Ltd.
