Background

The department was founded as the Electronic Unit at the Faculty of Science in 1974 and was then upgraded to the Department of Electronics in 1982. It was later united with the Industrial Chemistry Unit to form the Faculty of Engineering in 1984. The department offers academic programmes for bachelor, masters and doctorate levels in electrical, electronic, communication and computer engineering disciplines.
