Background Ahmad Kamal Ariffin is a Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). With over 30 years of service at UKM, he has been extensively involved in research, teaching and learning, postgraduate supervision, scholarly publications, professional consultancy, and academic administration. He is the recipient of a prestigious European Union Horizon 2020 Grant, awarded in collaboration with five leading universities in Europe, for research focusing on large-scale structural reliability and uncertainty quantification.
Prof. Ahmad Kamal Ariffin is a licensed Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM). He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Materials Malaysia. In addition, he is the founder of the Malaysia Association for Computational Mechanics, which is affiliated with the International Association for
Computational Mechanics. In recognition of his innovative contributions to education, he was awarded the Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE), ADE class 2017, joining a global community of educators who integrate Apple technologies to enhance teaching and learning both inside and outside the classroom. |
