Gan Kok Beng, Ph.D is currently senior lecturer in of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He was born in Malaysia, on June 22 1978. He has received the B.S. degree in Material Physics from Universiti Technologi Malaysia in 2001. He has worked as an Optical-Design Engineer from 2003 to 2005. In 2009, he received his Ph.D in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
Dr. Gan’s research interests focus on:
- Medical electronics, instrumentation and system design. He uses several electronic rapid prototyping platforms to develop the medical devices based on electro-optical method.
- Optical engineering and biomedical optics. He is interested to study the light and tissue interaction using optical modeling software. The optical modeling technique could assist in determining the optimum optical parameters for instrumentation and system design later.
- Biomedical signal processing. He used adaptive filtering and empirical mode decomposition techniques to process and extracts the signals of interest from the acquired biosignals.
