Abstract

The development of a continuous mixing process parameter for polypropylene graphite composite using the twin screw extruder is proposed. A further target of the study was a significant increase in the output, while retaining a good quality of process behavior and material properties. This paper reports the results of experimental work using a laboratory intermeshing co-rotating twin screw extruder, to generate the non-dimensional number. These non-dimensional numbers involve certain combinations of the mixing parameters and their relative significance. Using the Buckingham Pi Theorem and MatLab software, mixing effects are reported and their influences on viscosity of polypropylene graphite composite material. The numerical results showed good qualitative and are useful for further optimization design of mixing processes
