&second_txt1=Fuel cell is an electrochemical conversion device. It produces electricity from fuel (on the anode side) and an oxidant (on the cathode side), which react in the presence of an electrolyte.
Nowadays, Micro Direct Methanol Fuel Cell get a big attractions as a promising portable power sources because of the simple design and the small size. Because the methanol is fed directly into the fuel cell, steam reforming is not required and the storage of methanol is much easier as it does not need high pressures or low temperatures, because methanol is a liquid from.
UKM MICRO FUEL CELL GROUP which headed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Kartom Kamarudin are currently doing the researches focussing on the development of micro direct methanol fuel cell.
