Collaboration UKM-FUJIFILM Emphasize on Quality of Research, Academics and Internationalization

KUALA LUMPUR, 25 July 2019 – For the first time FUJIFILM Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd makes a collaboration with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), focused on expertise to UKM’s House of Quality which to emphasize on quality improvement especially in research, academics and internationalization.

Deputy Vice Chancellor Industry and Community Partnership, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Imran Ho Abdullah said the quality is certainly one of the key disciplines in pursuit to raise the university’s profile.

“I am very pleased to witness the commitment of the UKM and FUJIFILM Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd to establish a closer collaboration to create a higher education environment that is conducive to the development of academic and institutional excellence. This agreement is a significant milestone in our ongoing collaboration.

“It offers an excellent opportunity to expand the educational and training cooperation between our institutions, particularly because of the strong emphasis placed on the latest development in the field of diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy through continuous education,” he said while delivering his speech at the Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony between UKM and FUJIFILM Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd., recently.

He said the MoU commits to work together more closely towards the university’s common goal, the pursuit of the expertise and latest imaging technology to UKM students, lecturers and supporting staffs.

“Each side will pursue many significant activities, such as organizing the continuing medical education (CME), and also providing research and industrial training opportunities,” he added.

Meanwhile, Regional Technical Manager Asia Pacific Global FUJIFILM Tokyo, Head of Service Engineering Division, Katsuno Nishi said the collaboration with UKM is the first step for them and he is proud to see the next level of the collaboration.

“As an international company, we have diagnostic imaging products such as computer radiography, digital radiography, mammography and ultrasound imaging. We are striving to help medical professionals around the world better prevent, diagnose and treat conditions.

“Today, we’re looking ahead to the future of health care areas regenerative medicine, and we’ll never stop building on over 80 years of innovation to help make our planet a brighter and healthier place,” he added.
