Five Indonesia Higher Education Institution Chose UKM to make Stratgic Collaboration

BANGI, 25 Jan 2018 – Five Indonesia Higher Education Institution in Bangka Belitung Islands chose Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) as a strategic partner to enlarge the collaboration in research and education.

The five institutions are Universitas Bangka Belitung, Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Negeri (STAIN) Sheikh Abdurahman Siddik (SAS) Bangka Belitung, Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonom (STIE) Pertiba, Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Hukum (STIH) Pertiba, and Sekolah Tinggi Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (STKIP) Muhammadiyah Bangka Belitung.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Noor Azlan Ghazali said, the collaboration has become a basis of UKM and the province of Bangka Belitung in exchange views, ideas and activities to improve the quality of graduate studies at UKM and Institutions of Higher Education District Province of Bangka Belitung Islands.

“The collaboration through this MoU be able to widen the spread of knowledge that will give high impact not only to the two countries, but also to the islands of the region,” he said at the Ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UKM and Institutions of Higher Education District Province of Bangka Belitung Islands at Council Room, Chancellory Building, recently.

He said UKM will move all the sources to ensure all the goals and the aspects in the MoU achieved.

“I hope this collaboration will give a positive impact to the community in these two countries and strengthen the relationship between Malaysia-Indonesia,” he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of Bangka Belitung Islands, Drs Abdul Fatah M. Si said, the collaboration between UKM and Bangka Belitung Higher Education Institutions will increase the skills and excellency of staff and the institutions.

“I strongly believe this collaboration can give a good result and give a good benefit to both parties,” he said.
