The participants  were flagged off by the Director of the UKM Medical Molecular Biology Institute (UMBI) Prof Datuk Dr A Rahman Jamal according to categories, beginning at 7.30 AM.

The event was divided  into 5 categories, based on gender, and  five and ten kilometer distances, along with a fancy dress run with all the runners setting off in stages from the parking lot of the Pre-clinical building in the faculty grounds.

The route mostly covered Bandar Tun Razak in Cheras along roads where check-points were set up in case medical attention was needed.
