BANGI, 7 June 2016 – The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) would like to enhance cooperation with The National University of Malaysia (UKM) for the benefit of the public, said Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Datuk Seri Noor Rashid.

He expressed hope that the activities of the police and the community will  further strengthen relations which have always existed between the police and civil society.

“I want police officers to have closer ties with the Chancellor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital (HCTM) and complement each other,” he said when visiting the hospital in conjunction with the 209th Anniversary of the Police Day Celebrations in Kuala Lumpur recently.

This year’s theme of the celebrations is Police and the Community Inseparable.

“According to statistics from the Police Welfare Branch, the year 2015 saw a total of 437 patients from the police and their family members, receiving  treatment at HCTM,” he said.

This represents an increase of 72 people compared to the previous year.

He said that for the year 2016 up to 30th April, a total of 146 PDRM patients have been treated at HCTM.

Datuk Seri Noor Rashid also admitted that that the police,  through the Welfare Division, Department of Management, are always responsive to its staff who receive treatment at the hospital.
