Prof Dato’ Ir Dr Mohd Marzuki Mustafa Appointed as New UKM Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic and International Affairs

BANGI, April 17, 2018 – Pro Vice Chancellor (Strategy and Corporat Development), who also Executive Director of Strategy UKM Vice-Chancellor Office, Prof Dato’ Ir Dr Mohd Marzuki Mustafa has been appointed as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic and International Affairs, replace Prof Dato’ Ir Dr Riza Atiq Abdullah Ok Rahmat, who completed his tenure on January 22, 2018.

Appointment of Prof Dato’ Ir Dr Mohd Marzuki is for three years, effective on April 15, 2018 until April 14, 2021. According to a letter from the Higher Education Minister, Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh date on April 6, 2018, his appointment is under the provisions of Section 12 (6) of the Constitution of the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

Prof. Dato’ Dr Ir Mohd Marzuki, 56, originated from Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu Darul Iman.

He is the first class graduated degree from University of Tasmania, Australia in Electrical Engineering, Master of Science from University of Manchester, United Kingdom under the Institute of Science and Technology in Software Engineering and PhD in the same field at University of Salford, England.

He is a professional engineer and has held several positions in UKM, such as Director of Negotiation and Innovation, Head of Electrical, Electronic and System Engineering Department, Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, Executive Director of Strategy UKM Vice-Chancellor Office and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Strategy and Corporate Development.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof Tan Seri Dato’ Seri Dr Noor Azlan Ghazali said the continuation of the exchange Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s task will continue because who is appointed must hold the responsibility and trust in carrying out the duties of the University.

He said they those who are selected have the responsibility of bringing UKM to a university that is a popular and fascinating choice and has high scores in whatever tasks are being implemented.

“I believe that this appointment is the mandate to carry out the mission of the University to produce outstanding, glorious and distinguished graduates,” he said at the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Duty Handover Ceremony today.
