BANGI, 13 October 2016 – A total of seven young researchers and 24 excellent students who joined the 4th National PERMATA Nobelist Mindset Workshop 2016 were selected to attend the PERMATA Science Institute Workshop, London in December.

They will be presenting their research proposals which were selected by judges in the initial workshop and the proposals will be evaluated by panel of juries comprising leading professors in their respective field of studies.

The workshop that will be held in London will be organised in collaboration with The Royale Society.

Minister of Education, Dato’ Seri Mahdzir Khalid said besides seven young researchers and 24 excellent students, six teachers will also go to London to run the research.

“I was told that they will be divided into a few groups and will cooperate to do the research,” he said while delivering his speech at the 4th National PERMATA Nobelist Mindset Workshop 2016 closing ceremony, here, recently.

He said, in London, all of them will meet previous Nobel Prize winners, including Sir Venkatraman Ramakrishnan, who is also the President of The Royale Society London.

“They also will visit several laboratories such as Cavendish Lab at University of Cambridge and Chemistry Lab at Oxford University.

“I believe that this will encourage the students to be involved in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics),” he explained.
