Three Couples Graduate At The Same Time

BANGI, 6 Nov 2015 – Three married  couples graduated with post-graduate degrees at the 43rd Convocation of The National University of Malaysia (UKM) on October 31st until November 3rd, 2015.

They include Dr Sabrizan Osman, who received the Degree of Doctor of Public Health, while his wife, Dr Nabihah Shamsuddin received the Specialist Degree of Doctor of Family Medicine.

Dr Sabrizan said he and his wife always support each other to ensure their studies were not disrupted.

“We may face many challenges during our courses. Our children were given less attention because both of us were busy with work and assignments,”      he said after receiving his degree at the Convocation Ceremony here, recently.

He said during examination week, he and his wife will take turns to devote time for care their kids and help each other to ensure they passed with flying colours.

They have three children, the youngest a month-old baby.

Meanwhile, Dr Siti Baizura Abd Aziz, who was awarded the Degree of Doctor of Radiology and her husband, Dr Mazhar Mohd Su’ud who earned his Master of Public Health Science (Occupational Health),  said her husband made a lot of  compromises to support her in the pursuit of her ambition.

“The sacrifice made by us for four years has paid off today. What is important to couples who further their education is to manage time, be tolerant and plan properly for the family,” said Dr Siti Baizura who is working at the Batu Pahat Hospital while her husband is on duty at the Ministry of Health, Putrajaya.

Another couple who graduated were Akmalulhakeem Nor Hashim and his wife Sharifah Nur Eli Diana Syed Ismail, both of them completing their Masters of Business Administration.

Sharifah Nur Eh Diana said her pregnancy, now in its eighth month,  was a blessing to her and her husband.

“I am grateful because we have achieved much rogether since getting married in 2013.

“After settling down, we planned to continue our studies for Master’s Degree and Alhamduliilah our efforts became reality,” said Sharifah Nur Eh Diana who is working at Sobena Offshore Sdn Bhd.

She said, she and her husband still have the desire to go further to the doctorate level one day.ukmnewsportal-eg
