BANGI, 21 May 2016 – Chancellor of The National University of Malaysia (UKM) Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir has received an Honorary Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd), the college’s highest award.

The Yang Di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan was in Edinburgh recently to accept the award from College President Michael Lavelle-Jones, who is also an examiner at UKM’s Advanced Surgical Skills Centre.

According to a posting in the RCSEd website, Lavelle-Jones said the college presented the award to Tuanku Muhriz as the UKM Chancellor contributed a lot in raising donations to fund healthcare projects at the university.

Lavelle-Jones added that Tuanku Muhriz is leading projects to establish a centre of excellence for both medicine and surgery as part of a ‘Medical Tehnopolis’ in the vicinity of UKM.

The RCSEd is one of the oldest surgical corporations in the world. ukmnewsportal-eg
