UKM did Reasonably Well in the Statutory Bodies Sports Championship

KUALA TERENGGANU, 14 May, 2011 – Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) was placed ninth among the 67 statutory bodies that took part in the recently concluded 7th Statutory Bodies Sports Championship (SUKANUN-VII) at Malaysia Universiti Terengganu which ended here last Saturday (May 14).
Though taking part in only 10 out of the 20 sports competed, its contingent won the gold in the women beach volleyball and the bronze in mixed tennis, mixed ping pong, bowling, tug-of-war and two bronzes in lawn bowling.
Director of UKM Sports, Dr Tajul Arifin Muhamad who was the deputy head of UKM’s contingent said the 9th placing was the best it had attained since the sporting event began.
He hoped UKM can achieve greater placing in future events.
