BANGI, 21 Oct. 2011 - The culture of giving recognition to staff who had given exemplary service for the general wellbeing and betterment of UKM continued when the university feted all its staff who had served it for 20 years and more here tonight.
A total of 746 UKM staff were presented their Exemplary Service Awards at the function graced by Vice Chancellor, Prof Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Sharifah Hapsah Syed Hasan Shahabudin.
They include 111 who are retiring this year, 15 who had served UKM for 20 years and 159 for 30 years.
Prof Sharifah Hapsah said the awardees had given their best service and had been committed to meet the needs of the university while improving their capacity to serve thereby becoming exemplary to other staff members.
She urged all UKM staff members to make the university as their own and take pride in the development and advancement of the university where every staff members should feel that they belong.
Former Deputy Vice Chancellor (Students and Alumni Affairs), Prof Dato’ Dr Mohamad Razak, who is now the Vice Chanellor of the Allianze University College of Medical Sciences expressed the gratitude of all the awardees to UKM which he described as the best employer which had always taken the best care of its staffs’ welfare.
He was confident that UKM will continue to progress in the years to come and will gain international recognition.
