Libraries
The Tun Seri Lanang Library (TSL) on the main campus, with a floor space of 240,000 square feet, is one of the largest libraries in the nation. It houses a wide collection of books, journals, newspapers, conference papers, theses and other printed and electronic materials to support and facilitate learning and research.
While the TSL library is the central library and main repository of reading and research materials for the UKM community, the University also supports a number of specialized libraries such as the Malay Civilisation and World Library (PATMA), the Law Library, the Dr. Abdul Latiff Library, and the UKM Medical Centre Library. Students have full access to the main library as well as the specialized libraries within the rules and conditions set by the individual libraries.

Accommodation
The University owns, operates and maintains a variety of on and off-campus accommodation. All on-campus accommodation is administered by the Housing Unit Office. In UKM, all halls of residence are known as "Kolej" (College). Despite its academic overtones, it does not have any academic affiliation.
All on-campus colleges are self-contained, equipped with their own cafeteria, meeting room, television and prayer rooms. The room configurations range from single to multiple sharing arrangements (4 pax). The University also manages a number of off-campus accommodation complexes in the adjacent townships of Bandar Baru Bangi and Kajang. These residential complexes are serviced by bus routes operated by the University. For convenience, most international students are housed at the Kolej Taman Tenaga.
All in-coming students will be furnished with an Accommodation Handbook which has detailed information on the various types of accommodation, tenancy agreement, rental guidelines and other matters related to renting single or sharing accommodation. Students are strongly encouraged to contact the Housing Unit regarding their housing preferences prior to registration, as all University-managed accommodation is highly competitive, subject to availability. Students also have the option of seeking private accommodation.
