The concept of sustainable development championed by the Global Geoparks Network (GGN) is proven to be one of the most successful models in sustainable regional development. The increasing numbers of applications enrolling for GGN membership are the solid evidence of the acceptance of the concept. Telling from the increasing number of Global Geoparks, there is a need to ensure that the true GGN concept is sustainable development is cascaded down to the geopark managers and administrators. This certainly will increase sustainability of a Geopark, but this is a huge task for Geopark Managers. In order to achieve this noble goal, having a Sustainable Geopark Management is crucial. The vast differences in the development status of GGN members between the European and Asia Pacific geoparks may lead to different issues and challenges that required specific attentions. Hence, there is a pressing need to connect all the Geopark Managers in this region to share their experience, challenges and best practices in steering their respective Geoparks towards achieving sustainable development goal visioned by the Geopark Concept.

The objectives are;

1. To boost and enhance the connectivity of GGN members

2. To share experience, challenges and best practices for sustainable management of the Geopark.

3. To disseminate and exchange ideas and knowledge on the concept of sustainable development.

4. To promote better understanding on concept of GGN networking in this region.
