Jabatan Sains Matematik (JSM), FST merupakan pusat pengajian sains matematik yang terkemuka di Malaysia. Ahli akademik dan para pelajar pasca siswazah pusat aktif bergiat dalam penyelidikan mengikut bidang tujahan pusat pengajian yang secara amnya merangkumi matematik, statistik, sains aktuari serta bidang aplikasi berkaitan.
