SKAG2163 Penilaian Impak Alam Sekitar

This course imparts knowledge on the basic principles of impact assessment, its procedures with specific focus to the methodology practised in Malaysia. Assessment procedures include physical, bilogical and socio-economic components. Assessment process include preliminary assessment, impact prediction and quantification, identification of mitigating measures and impact reduction, monitoring programme and post-auditing.

SKAG2183 Asas Ekologi

This is an introduction course in ecology for students who would like to further their scope of studies in environmental management as well as biogeography. This course illustrates how the discipline of ecology started and developed through the pioneers in this field. The understanding of the ecosystem, its characteristics, components of ecosystem, biogeochemical cycles and the factors that exist in the ecosystem as well as problems and mitigation of environmental issues will also be discussed.

SKAG2193 Geomorfologi Pinggir Pantai

This course aims to give the students an understanding of the geomorphologic processes in coastal zone. Students will also be exposed to the concept of coastal mass budget to understand the quasi-equilibrium of coastal zone.

SKAG2263 Teknik dalam Geografi

This course will expose students to the techniques commonly used in geography such as measures of central tendency, data comparison, association, relationship and prediction. The course will also teach elements of computerized cartography and spatial statistics. Data analysis will utilize the SPSS software.
