Showcase your research communication and presentation skills in just 3 minutes. This 3 MINUTE THESIS COMPETITION (3MT) will be held at the UKM Graduate Centre on 1st March 2017 for the semi-final round. Do well and you will be chosen for the FINAL which will be held on 4th April 2017.

What is THREE MINUTE THESIS (3MT)?

Three Minute Thesis (3MT@) is a research competition developed by the University of Queensland (UQ). It is an effort to provide students with an opportunity to cultivate students’ academic, research communication and presentation skills. Specifically, the competition will test students’ ability to effectively explain their research and its significance in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience in three minutes.

Who is eligible?

Candidates must be PhD students in the second year of study or above, and have not fulfill all the graduation requirements. The competition is opened to postgraduate students from the three clusters of research areas:

Science and Technology​, Social Sciences and Engineering.

Certificate will be provided to all presenters​ for semi-final as well as for final round.​

How to register?

2. A Registration fee of RM50.00 can be made to The UKM Graduate Centre located at Block B, Level 3 of the Tun Fatimah Hashim building. The registration fee may be redeemed against the fees of the workshop or industrial visit organised by the UKM Graduate Centre (valid for 3 months). So, essentially your participation in 3MT is FREE.

So, please hurry up. We are looking forward to meeting you during the semi-final round on 1st March 2017 and who knows you could be one of the finalist who will represent UKM to the National Level of 3MT. Winner of this national level competition may get to represent Malaysia at the International level. We are hoping it could be you!
