Introduction

The International Seminar on Muamalat, Islamic Economics and Finance 2009, is a pioneering effort by the Syariah Department, Faculty of  Islamic Studies, UKM to introduce the concept of muamalat in addressing the challenges of world economic globalization. The event is organized by the Syariah Department in collaboration with the Islamic Economics and Finance Research Group (EKONIS), Faculty of Economics and Business, UKM.

 

Objectives of the seminar are :

  • To discuss and to strengthen the concepts and principles of muamalat

  • To interpret the mechanisms of fiqh in deriving its hukm (verdict) for financial products

  • To identify the weaknesses in the current applications of Islamic financial products and their alternatives

  • To look for potential in sophisticated innovations of products that will be able to address the challenges of world economic globalization

Prensentation of Paperwork (Prensentation Schedule)

This seminar is expected to attract the Fuqaha’, economic experts and practitioners of Islamic financial systems, those who are directly involved in the theories and applications of muamalat, Islamic economics and finance, to produce articles focusing on fiqh muamalat and its applications in the Islamic economic and financial system. The discussion of each article can be focused only on theories or the applications or the combination of both theories and current applications
