Background

The Sustainability Challenge 2017 is a second series of the competition that was initiated by UKM-YSD Chair for Sustainable Development: Zero Waste Technology with the objective of exploring and developing innovative ideas on sustainability of palm oil industry. This competition will provide an excellent opportunity of the participants to present their sustainability’s ideas to the industry practitioners. The previous competition was held successfully on 18 November 2015 and team The Succor from Universiti Sains Malaysia has been named as the winner. See previous competition here. Palm Oil Industry and Community Sustainability

Objective

The competition aims to:

  • To explore and develop innovative ideas on the sustainability of palm oil industry among students.
  • To provide a platform for initiatives on palm oil sustainability.
  • To initiate initiatives on how industry benefits the communities
  • To promote UKM-YSD Chair for Sustainable Development: Zero Waste Technology and CESPRO at national and regional level.
