Professor Dr. Ir. Peter Oosterveer

Professor Dr. Ir. Peter Oosterveer received his PhD in 2005 at the Wageningen University in the Netherlands. From March 2016, Professor Oosterveer became one of the three Personal Professors of the Environmental Policy Group, Wageningen University. His research and teaching is in the eld of globalization and sustainability of food production and consumption, including labeling and certication of food. As a social scientist he is particular interested in human-human and human-environment interactions. His research is implemented in many dierent parts of the world, including Europe, Asia and Africa. He is currently a member of the Board of the International Sociological Association under RC 24: Environment and Society and the European Sociological Association (ESA) under RN 12: Environment and Society. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of “Environmental Sociology” a journal published by Taylor and Francis. In 2016, Professor Oosterveer was appointed as the Chair of the Malaysian Palm Oil Berhad (MPOB)-UKM
