Introduction
Once again, the School of Applied Physics, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) is honoured to organise the 4th International UKM-KAIST Summer School for 2012 after successfully hosting the First, Second and Third Summer School on Nuclear Power Science and Engineering. The Summer School is jointly organised with the Department of Nuclear and Quantum Engineering (NQe), Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Korea. The summer school is an opportunity platform for participants to be familiar with the renowned nuclear experts from KAIST. The aim is to provide nuclear power education to participants and play a bridging function between regional institutes and KAIST. We are confident that this summer school will bring all of the participants to a better understanding of the latest knowledge of radiological environmental impact, risk and reliability engineering, steam supply system and components design, and advanced and future reactor concepts and designs from Korea. This year, we would like to anticipate and welcome previous participants from local or international, in particular, young researchers, participants from electric utilities, governmental research institutions, postgraduate students and interested parties are cordially welcome to make a formal application. The organising committee is looking forward to seeing you at the 4th International UKM-KAIST Summer School on Nuclear Power Science and Engineering 2012 in UKM, Malaysia.
