The UMBI-ANGKASA Microgravity Lab is supported by a grant from the National Space Agency of Malaysia (ANGKASA), and serves as a national facility for microgravity studies. The lab is equipped with a Desktop Random Positioning Machine (RPM) from Dutch Space Technologies, which enables the simulation of microgravity involving small model organisms such as Caenorhabditis elegans, plants and seeds.
