Recycled Construction Wood Waste Products Developed by FRIM

Coloured Woodchips
Produced from saw-wood woodchips and mixed with colouring at various levels of production. As many colours are produced, coloured woodchips can be used for landscape and lawn beautification.

Wood Briquette
Produced with cooperation from YOLTAN Briquette (M) Sdn. Bhd. It is a burning material to replace hard wood or coal. The burning process of wood briquette is more efficient and clean. Its use is more popular in cold climate countries as a burning material for heaters in winter.

Wood Fiber Cement Block
Produced from wood blending process is mixed with OPC (Ordinary portland Cement) to produce wood fibre cement blocks in its production process. This wood fibre cement block can be used in the local construction industry in the same way as the palm oil fibre cement block, which was also produced by FRIM.

Wood Cement Block
Made from saw dust or wood particles and mixed with OPC cement under high pressure and controlled heat. This product is widely used, especially in the construction industry for outer walls, dividing walls and ceilings.

Particle Board
Made from saw dust or wood particles but mixed with glue(?), compared to OPC as in cement board production. Thsi product is popular in the making of furniture, for example cupboards, cabinets, kitchen cabinets, tables and chairs.

Laminated Timber
Solid wood is sliced and cut according to set measurements and joined and layered using glue(?) to produce a larger component. This laminated timber is used for construction purposes and furniture production.
