1. The Project

UKM has once again been selected to participate in the 2017 Perodua Eco-Challenge (PEC). Different from the previous themes, Perodua has given specific, design and fabricate, one-IHL one project kind of approach. UKM team has proposed the storage compartment in MyVi. Why this project?

The project Compartment.

I. Insufficient storage compartment

- No space to keep the items that we need urgently

II. The needs for increased safety requirements

- This is the approach to tackle car break-ins.

2. Product Selection and Concept

Product selection is the process where the proposed design are finalized. The pros and cons for each of the design aspect such as impact to the user, eco-friendly, and current market needs are evaluated. Each element is evaluated with a score sheet. Each of the advantage and disadvantage aspects was discussed before the final product is selected. This stage required students-lecturers to choose one out of three design concepts which were:

I. Foldable Work Table for Autonomous Driving Car

II. Car Park Sunshade Protection

III. Car Seat Storage Compartment
