Research: Metabolic Syndrome

Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of conditions that include the increased blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess body fat around the waist, and abnormal cholesterol or triglyceride levels. If left untreated, it may increase the risk of heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes. Research in metabolic syndrome has been one of the research strength in this department. Our researchers are interested in knowing the mechanisms involved in this disease, as well as investigating the treatment options using natural herbs.
