BANGI, 19 August 2025 – The Institute of Climate Change Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hadhramout University (HU), Yemen, to strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two universities.
The MoU paves the way for joint initiatives, including research collaboration, academic exchange, joint publications, staff and student mobility, joint grants, joint conferences and symposiums, as well as capacity-building programmes.
According to Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation Affairs, Prof. Dr. Jamia Azdina Jamal, this partnership reflects similar objectives between the two institutions.
“It is our shared vision that this partnership will advance knowledge, foster cultural understanding, and develop human capital for the benefit of both Yemen and Malaysia.
“We look forward to a long-lasting and impactful collaboration built on mutual respect, trust, and shared goals,” she said.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Jamia, Director of the Institute of Climate Change, Associate Prof. Dr. Zaini Sakawi, HU President, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash, and HU General Secretary, Mr Abdullah Alwai Aidid.
