{"id":2680,"date":"2024-10-14T08:04:16","date_gmt":"2024-10-14T00:04:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/beritaukm\/?p=2680"},"modified":"2024-10-14T08:04:17","modified_gmt":"2024-10-14T00:04:17","slug":"penyelidik-ukm-komited-hasilkan-varieti-padi-baharu-bagi-meningkatkan-keterjaminan-dan-keselamatan-makanan-negara","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ukm.my\/beritaukm\/penyelidik-ukm-komited-hasilkan-varieti-padi-baharu-bagi-meningkatkan-keterjaminan-dan-keselamatan-makanan-negara\/","title":{"rendered":"Penyelidik UKM Komited Hasilkan Varieti Padi Baharu bagi Meningkatkan Keterjaminan dan Keselamatan Makanan Negara"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Oleh Murniati Abu Karim<br>Foto Ikhwan Hashim<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BANGI, 9 Oktober 2024 \u2013 Kumpulan Penyelidikan Universiti Pengurusan dan Penambahbaikan Tanaman Mampan (KPU PPTM) Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) terus komited mengasilkan varieti padi baharu bagi meningkatkan keterjaminan dan keselamatan makanan negara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Menurut Ketua KPU PPTM, Prof. Dr. Kalaivani Nadarajah, sebanyak sembilan varieti padi telah berjaya didaftarkan, dengan tiga daripadanya sudah dikomersialkan kepada petani. Disamping itu, ada beberapa lagi varieti baharu sedang dalam kajian dan ujian di lapangan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Antara masalah yang dihadapi industri pertanian adalah kualiti tanah merosot disebabkan penggunaannya yang berterusan selain penggunaan bahan kimia seperti baja yang memberi kesan kepada mikrob semula jadi di dalam tanah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Untuk menggelakkan kesan negatif itu, kita melihat semula pada teknik penggunaan teknologi hijau supaya tanah lebih segar dan sihat serta boleh menampung pertumbuhan dengan baik,\u201d katanya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sementara itu, timbalan Naib Canselor Hal Ehwal Penyelidikan dan Inovasi, Prof. Dato\u2019 Dr. Wan Kamal Mujani berkata UKM berbangga dengan pencapaian para penyelidik kita dalam bidang pertanian, khususnya dalam penyelidikan padi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSelain dalam bidang pembiakbakaan padi, kajian yang dijalankan oleh para saintis kita meliputi bidang bioteknologi tumbuhan, pengurusan penyakit dan perosak tanaman, pertanian pertanian mampan serta pengurusan tanah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHasil penyelidikan ini termasuk penghasilan varieti padi, teknologi kawalan biologi, serta inovasi hijau yang mesra alam, yang semuanya bakal menyumbang kepada kemajuan sektor pertanian padi di Malaysia secara khusus, dan keterjaminan makanan pada skala yang lebih luas,\u201d katanya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beliau berkata demikian ketika ditemui sempena Hari Keterjaminan dan Keselamatan Makanan UKM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pada majlis tersebut, KPU PPTM turut melancarkan dua buah buku yang bertajuk <em>\u2018Principles in Plant Microbe Interaction for Sustainable Agriculture\u2019<\/em> dan <em>\u2018Soil Microbiome Dynamics and Adaptation to Environmental Stresses\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Dr. Kalaivani berharap kedua-dua buku ini akan memberikan manfaat besar kepada pelajar, penyelidik, serta semua yang terlibat aktif dalam bidang pertanian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\"
