Research on sub-area Smart and Sustainable Materials is pursuing to development of functionalized and value-added sustainable materials. It is in line with CESPRO’s Vision and Mission by developing innovative sustainable materials which can contribute to society and industry. The essence of our research is to make a major contribution towards a circular economy which are currently focusing on but not limited to:

• Fractionation and bio-conversion of biomass
• Extending bio-based materials in additive manufacturing
• Smart nanomaterials for chemical sensor application
• Materials functionalization for chemical uptake and loading capacity
