Tissue Engineering & Regenerative Medicine (TERM) are among the research fields where studies on repairing and restoring damages tissue and organ are performed with the hope of restoring the physiological functions of the damages tissue. The famous triad of tissue engineering which are, cells, scaffolds, and growth factors were thoroughly studied and manipulated in order to help in tissues regeneration. On the other hand, regenerative medicines research which include cell  based therapies, genetic engineering, molecular therapies and materials therapy, to named a few also were performed to boost the ability of damage tissue to regenerate.

CTERM is a research centre located at Hospital Tuanku Canselor Mukhriz (HCTM), where we are among the pioneer in starting the TERM research in Malaysia. In line with the new narrative of UKM: TERAS which stands for Talent, Ethics, Revitalize, Agile and Soul, CTERM has the vision to become an internationally recognized centre of excellence in the clinical translation of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine research. 

As part of the Faculty of Medicine, UKM, we prioritize in producing  superior quality graduates with high ethics and moral conducts.  Other than, working in the academic fields, alumni of CTERM are known to venture in the stem cells and research industry that are now currently blooming in Malaysia. We are very proud of our Alumni and students and wish the best for them in any fields the venture.

Besides that, CTERM also offer high quality services to customers from different background ranging from the industry until the students from other departments and universities. Our R&D laboratory which are ISO certified are equipped with calibrated equipment to meet the customer need in order to maintain the integrity and obtain accurate results for their researh. CTERM also provide services through our GMP laboratory which are certified by the NPRA. The integrity of our GMP laboratory is important to us to ensure only quality products and reliable outcome will be produced.

To that end, we would like to welcome any collaborations from universities and industries from around the world! I believe with strong collaborations in TERM research, we will be able to move forward faster into clinical translation.
