Dr. Mohd Adib Ismail is an economist by training with Islamic studies background. Currently, he is a senior lecturer at University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He joined the university in 2004 as a tutor. He completed his doctoral study from the International Islamic University of Malaysia in 2009 with Doctor of Philosophy in Economics. Prior to that, he obtained his bachelor degree in Islamic studies with concentration on Shariah and economics from the University of Malaya, while his Master of Economics from UKM. His research area is in financial economics with specific topic on firm’s financial constraints. He has expertise in panel data econometrics as he employs this method in most of his researches. He also have interest in Islamic economics and international trade. He has published various papers in these areas. At UKM, he teaches macroeconomics, Islamic economics and fiqh. He also an editor of Jurnal Ekonomi Malaysia and has been a reviewer to articles from various journals such as Ecological Economics, Jurnal Pengurusan (JP), Journal of Muamalat and Islamic Finance Review (JMIFR) and  International Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Finance and Management.
