On the 25th<\/sup> September, the opening ceremony was held at the Auditorium of Pusat Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (PPUKM). The ceremony began at 9am with the VIPs being led in by a band of bagpipers. After VIPs delivered their speeches, the highlights of the ceremony soon started with the launching of \u201cPPUKM Formulary APP\u201d as well as the giving of certificates to successful smoking quitters. The opening ceremony ended with a photograph session.<\/p>\n The 3-days event was a blast with various healthcare booths being held in the main lobby of HCTM. There were body mass index (BMI) and blood pressure checking booth, infection control booth and a realistic-looking pharmacy photo booth. Healthcare professionals such as pharmacists, dieticians and physiotherapists also took part in giving awareness and counselling to the public. Talks on cervical cancer, HPV diseases and healthy lifestyle were also given on the 2nd<\/sup> and 3rd<\/sup> day.<\/p>\n The 2nd<\/sup> year students of Faculty of Pharmacy UKM also participated actively by setting up 4 exhibition booths that educate the public on the \u201cRole of Pharmacists\u201d, \u201cInsulin and Inhaler Usage\u201d, \u201cTraditional Medicine\u201d and \u201cCounterfeit Medicine\u201d. Through this significant event, the students gained much experience in healthcare promotion. They were so pleased and satisfied to aid the public in gaining useful knowledge about health and medicine.<\/p>\n Hopefully this meaningful event will be held again next year.
