Prof. Dr. Khairana Husain)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Candidates who possess the following criteria are invited to apply as a full-time PhD\/MSc (research mode) student in Faculty of Pharmacy, UKM:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Bachelor Degree with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) \u2265 30\/ 4.0 or equivalent in Science or health-related field (e.g. chemistry\/pharmacy\/ biomedicine)\u00a0 OR Master\u2019s degree in similar field.<\/li>\n<li>Able to conduct a research project involving cell culture techniques (anti allergic assay using RBL-2H3 \/anti-inflammatory assay using U937), isolation (using column chromatography, hplc\u00a0 etc) and identification of bioactive compounds (nmr, ms, uv and ir).<\/li>\n<li>Excellent proficiency in English language (written and spoken).<\/li>\n<li>Able to work independently with minimal supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Right sense of urgency, hardworking, pro-active, and willing to learn new skills\/things.<\/li>\n<li>Open for Malaysian and\/or \u00a0international applications (those with scholarships only).<\/li>\n<li>Duration of project-2-3 year.<\/li>\n<li>Project entitled<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u201cMechanistic studies on anti-allergic activity of selected species of <em>Anaxagorea <\/em>extracts and their isolated compounds\u201d.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u201cInhibitory effects of a novel \u03b1,\u03b2-unsaturated carbonyl-based compound on NF-kB, MAPK and PI3K-Akt signaling pathways in U937 macrophages, histamine and \u03b2-hexosaminidase release in RBL-2H3 cells\u201d.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>How to Apply<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested candidates, please send your CVs and academic transcript to Assoc.
