Tadika Tunas UKM was established circa 1980, which was once known as The Young Students Kindergarten, where the Department of Care was managed by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities while the Department of Pre-school was managed by the Faculty of Education. In 1999, UKM Holdings took over management and rebranded it to UKM Childcare Kindergarten. Starting from 2009, the UKM Kindergarten was returned to the Faculty of Education with its name Tunas Permata. On 2 May 2018, the faculty agreed to rebrand the kindergarten to Tadika Tunas UKM. The kindergarten was registered with the Ministry of Education (Education Act 1961 - Teaching Methods for Kindergartens And Nursery Schools) on 13 December 2018. Tadika Tunas UKM provides programmes for early child education of 4, 5 and 6 years old based on the National Pre-school Standard Curriculum (KSPK) and bound to guidelines by the ministry. At present, 2022 witnesses Tadika Tunas UKM with a total of 120 pupils under the management of 15 staff.
