Educational Professional Development through Lesson Study: From Preschool to Tertiary Education

Introduction

Lesson Study is a model to promote collaboration among educators for professional development in teaching and learning. Lesson Study provides a platform for educators to discuss, share insights, reflect on interventions and plan measures to improve teaching through researching upon their lesson. The World Association of Lesson Study (WALS) has been propagating lesson study and has thus far organised eleven international conferences on Lesson Study. Most recent, WALS has appointed UKM the organiser of WALS’s 2022 International Conference on Lesson Study. Hence, the Education Faculty of UKM is taking the first step in Malaysia to organize the 1st regional conference on Lesson Study. The aim of this conference is to assemble researchers, and educators in the region to share best practices on classroom-based research. Renowned keynote and invited speakers of this conference are from Japan, Indonesia and Singapore.
