3 MINUTE THESIS COMPETITION <\/strong>(3MT\u00a0UKM\u00a02022)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dear postgraduate students,<\/p>\n

The UKM Graduate Centre is pleased to invite you to participate in\u00a03MT\u00a0UKM\u00a02022\u00a0Competition<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The\u00a03MT\u00a0UKM is an annual research communication competition for 3rd semester PhD students onwards. Specifically, the competition will test the students’ ability to effectively explain their research and its significance in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes. The\u00a03MT\u00a0UKM\u00a02022\u00a0competition winners will have the honour to represent UKM in the\u00a03MT\u00a0National Competition. This competition will be held in virtual format and conducted in\u00a0English<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What is THREE MINUTE THESIS (3MT)?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Three Minute Thesis (3MT@) is a research competition developed by the University of Queensland (UQ). It is an effort to provide students with an opportunity to cultivate students\u2019 academic, research communication and presentation skills. Specifically, the competition will test students’ ability to effectively explain their research and its significance in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience in three minutes. Who is eligible?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Candidates must be\u00a0PhD students in 3rd semester and above and have passed the proposal defense. The students also need to at least have preliminary research output and have not yet fulfilled all the graduation requirements<\/strong>. Other regulations are mentioned in the attached file. The competition is opened to postgraduate students from the three clusters of research areas:<\/p>\n
