YM TUNKU DATO’ MAHMOOD FAWZY

YM Tunku Mahmood Fawzy is a distinguished independent non-executive director and former C-suite executive with over 15 years of board experience spanning financial services, aviation, energy, infrastructure, and telecommunications. He holds an MBA from the University of Warwick, a BA (Hons) in Business Studies from the University of Westminster, and a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA) and a member of the Institute of Public Accountants (MIPA).

He currently serves as Chairman of EdgePoint Malaysia Holdings Sdn Bhd, Independent Non-Executive Director of HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad, Independent Non-Executive Director of AIA General Berhad and Independent Director of Hong Leong Asset Management Berhad. Previously, he has chaired and served on the boards of several prominent organisations including Deutsche Bank Malaysia, AirAsia X Berhad, Telekom Malaysia, Malaysia Airports Holdings, and SapuraKencana Petroleum. He was also a panel member at Urusharta Jamaah and Chairman of the Financial Services Professional Board.

Tunku Mahmood’s earlier executive career includes senior leadership roles at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Engen Petroleum Ltd (South Africa), and PricewaterhouseCoopers. His leadership has been instrumental in corporate turnarounds, post-merger integrations, crisis navigation, and regulatory engagement.Tunku Mahmood also holds several royal honours, including the title of Tunku Kecil Muda, and serves as Head of Customs and Ceremonies at the Istana Besar Seri Menanti.

DATUK DR. MOHD ZABRI YUSOFF

Datuk Dr. Mohd Zabri bin Yusoff holds a Bachelor of Public Administration degree from the University of Malaya (UM) in 1985. He later pursued and obtained a Master of Public Administration from the same university in 1990. In 2000, he completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Before being appointed as Director of INTAN, Datuk Dr. Mohd Zabri served as the Deputy Secretary-General (Management and Development) at the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) from 1 December 2021 to 30 November 2023. During this tenure, he also held the role of Chief Digital Officer (CDO), leading digitalisation initiatives across all divisions of the Ministry.

Effective 1 December 2023, he was appointed as the Director of the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN), a premier training institution under the Public Service Department of Malaysia. In this capacity, he plays a key role in driving INTAN’s mission to equip public service officers with the necessary skills and knowledge to remain competitive and forward-looking, in support of national aspirations towards achieving developed nation status through holistic development and enhanced productivity in the public sector.

DR. WEI-NEE CHEN

Dr Wei-nee Chen holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Canterbury, a Master of Business Administration from Universiti Tun Abdul Razak, and a Doctor of Business Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She was formerly the Chief Strategic Officer of the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) of Malaysia from October 2011 until September 2020. From December 2005 to mid-2011, Dr Wei-nee served in the capacity of a Technical Advisor in the Malaysia Building Integrated Photovoltaic (MBIPV) Project; a project by the United Nations Development Program and administered by the Malaysian Government. Prior to coming back to Malaysia, she worked in New Zealand for 10 years in various industries.

Today, Dr Wei-nee is known for her deep passion for energy transition and climate change. In September 2020, she joined Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd, Malaysia’s first publicly listed independent oil & gas exploration and production company, to pursue her passion in energy transition under the capacity of the Vice-President of New Energy Ventures. In August 2022, she joined Bursa Malaysia Bhd as Head of Carbon Market operating the Bursa Carbon Exchange (BCX). Today, BCX is the world’s first Shariah-compliant and Malaysia’s first platform to be accredited by I-TRACK Foundation. Dr Wei-nee currently serves as a member of Industry Advisory Panel to Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC), Malaysian Photovoltaic Industry Association (MPIA), the REDD+ Finance Framework Advisory Committee (RFFAC) under the Malaysia Forest Fund (MFF), member of Malaysia CORSIA Taskforce, and is involved in various technical working groups such as the World Bank Partnership for Implementation for Carbon Pricing Instrument (PMI CPI) for Malaysia.

DATO’ SHARIFAH BINTI MOHD. ISMAIL

Dato’ Sharifah holds a First-Class Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Shariah, a Master’s Degree in Comparative Law, and a PhD with a specialisation in Islamic Governance and Women’s Leadership. She is also an Honorary Professor at Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL), Malaysia, and an Adjunct Associate Professor at Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, Brunei Darussalam.

Dato’ Sharifah’s career began in Jabatan Telekom Malaysia (JTM). She grew with the telecommunication organisation through its privatisation, corporatisation and globalisation process along the years. With over 30 years of experience in Telekom Malaysia, Dato’ Sharifah brings with her a wealth of knowhow in corporate communications, marketing and customer service – having served in various positions in the organisation. Later, in 2004 she moved on to join Puncak Niaga (M) Sdn. Bhd. as the Senior General Manager Corporate Communications – managing all aspects of public relations and corporate communications for the company.

In 2002, Dato’ Sharifah was appointed President of the Institute of Marketing Malaysia (IMM), a non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to the advancement of marketing professionals and became the first woman President of the Institute since its inception in 1979.She successfully rebranded IMM into a dynamic and progressive professional body. Dato’ Sharifah is also actively involved in the education sector, serving on the Industry Advisory Panels of several leading universities in Malaysia.At the global level, Dato’ Sharifah is a member of the Asia Marketing Federation (AMF) and the World Marketing Association, and serves as a Board Trustee of the Federation of Malaysian Consumer Associations (FOMCA), as well as Advisor to ERA Consumer Malaysia.

Her leadership, experience, and dedication have established her as one of the most influential figures in Malaysia’s marketing and corporate communications landscape.

MRS. ANITA AHMAD

Industry Advisor, UKM-Graduate School of Business

Mrs. Anita holds a Master’s Degree in Social Development as a Chevening Scholar and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the United Kingdom. She is also a recipient of the Eisenhower Fellowship and the John S. Wolf Fellowship, through which she explored diverse approaches to community development in the United States.

Before joining the MySDG Foundation, Puan Anita served as the Head of Community Development and Humanitarian Disaster Response at Yayasan Hasanah, a foundation under Khazanah Nasional Berhad. She brings with her over 20 years of experience in the non-profit (NGO) sector. Mrs. Anita has also served with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and MERCY Malaysia, where she fights for gender equality, the rights of Indigenous Peoples, and the rights of persons with disabilities through public sector partnerships. She has managed humanitarian and internally displaced persons (IDP) programmes in natural disaster zones and conflict areas in countries such as Sudan and Afghanistan.

Currently, Mrs. Anita is the Chief Executive Officer of the MySDG Foundation, an organisation established on 27 April 2022 under the Trustees (Incorporation) Act 1952. In her capacity as CEO, she remains deeply committed to advancing the sustainable development agenda in Malaysia, with a strong focus on underserved and marginalised communities. 

MR. MANOKARAN MOTTAIN

Mr. Manokaran Mottain holds a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.He began his career at Bank Negara Malaysia as a Senior Economist from 1987 to 1996. In 1993, he was awarded a postgraduate scholarship by Bank Negara to pursue a Master’s degree in Development Economics at the Victoria University of Manchester, United Kingdom. He has served as the Group Chief Economist at Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad since 2012 until 2021.

Before joining Alliance Bank, Encik Manokaran served as Director of Economic Research at AmBank Group from 2006 to May 2012. From 1996 to 2006, he was Chief Economist at SBB Securities, where he led the research department and produced economic analysis and forecasts for institutional clients. He also served as Investment Panel Member for the Human Resources Development Fund under the Ministry of Human Resources (2016–2020), Member of the National Economic Council (2011–2013), and Council Advisor to the Faculty of Economics and Administration, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (appointed in January 2020).

In addition, he has been actively involved in various social and community development initiatives, including serving as Organising Chairman of the National Conference on Malaysian Indian Socio-Economic Transformation and Advisor to several government committees.Mr. Manokaran also served on the Board of Directors of MAVCAP (Malaysia Venture Capital Management Berhad), where he provided strategic advisory on investments in start-up companies and contributed to the development of Malaysia’s tech business ecosystem.
