Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fazli Idris

Associate Professor of Management

Biography

Dr Fazli Idris is an Associate Professor at UKM- Graduate School of Business, the National University of Malaysia (UKM). He was the Deputy Dean of UKM GSB from 2016-2019. Dr Fazli was invited as a visiting scholar at the Graduate School of Economics, University of Tokyo (2014), Faculty of Economics, Universitas Islam Indonesia (2017) and University of Saitama (2018). His area of interest is in management. As such, at UKM Graduate School of Business, Dr Fazli conducts relevant courses; among others, organizational theory and practices, project management, operations management, and strategic management. Prior to join academia, Dr Fazli worked for SONY Corporation. Academically, he received his BBA from East Texas State University, Texas and MBA and PhD from UKM. Dr Fazli is active in doing research and publication. His current research project is; Innovative capability in business operations: Assessment of critical factors and development of an integrated framework for service industries, which is funded by Malaysia’s Ministry of Higher Education. His research works have appeared in reputable journals such as; Employee Relations, Personnel Review, Total Quality Management, Singapore Management Review and Journal of Comparative International Management. Recently, he published two books in management: (1) Roots and Enablers of Service Operations Excellence (2019), (2) Knowledge based Supply Chain Integration (2019)
