National Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Day 2025

In conjunction with the National Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Day 2025 celebration, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) participated in sharing knowledge and information on TVET with attendees.

During the event, Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Haryanti Mohd Affandi, Head of the UKM TVET Dynamics University Research Group (KPU), was invited as a panelist in the National TVET Educators Seminar 2025 Forum. The forum carried the theme, “Sustainable TVET Practices: Innovative Strategies for Green Skills and Digital Readiness.”

UKM’s involvement in the field of TVET has been spearheaded by the IDEA Centre since 2021. Among the key initiatives is the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UKM and the Department of Skills Development (JPK) for the year 2025. This collaboration aims to strengthen joint efforts in research, policy development, and the empowerment of Malaysia’s national TVET ecosystem.

The National TVET Day 2025 celebration, held at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh, was officiated by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In his officiating address, the Prime Minister reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to strengthening TVET as a core pillar in the development of a highly skilled human capital, aligned with the Malaysia MADANI vision.

Also in attendance was the Deputy Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. UKM was represented by Professor Dr Jamia Azdina Jamal, Director of the IDEA Centre, who also serves as the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) and the Coordinator of the UKM-JPK MoU.
