The protein structure and function study group in the Institute of Systems Biology (INBIOSIS), UKM, is seeking a talented candidate passionate about doing life sciences research 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲/𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑.
Computational predictions of potential drug-binding sites need to be experimentally verified to identify a potential drug target of a protein. Hence, it is necessary to understand the atomic level interactions that allow the protein-ligand binding to take place to assess the fitness of a particular approved drug compound to be repositioned to a new target protein site.
This project aims to study the molecular interactions of repositioned drugs targeting MRSA and human proteins using X-ray crystallography and biophysical methods to examine and validate the computationally predicted molecular interactions.
