Teknik ini mengukur serapan radiasi inframerah dari sampel tersebut mengikut panjang gelombang tertentu. Melalui serapan jaluran inframerah ini&nbsp; komponen molekul serta strukturnya boleh dikenalpasti.&nbsp; Teknik ini sangat berguna untuk mengenalpasti komposisi bahan kimia yang mempunyai partikel saiz kecil&nbsp; di antara 10-50 mikron serta&nbsp; boleh&nbsp; mengenalpasti partikel bersaiz besar di bahagian permukaan bahan.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Peralatan ini menganalisis sampel menggunakan gelombang pertengahan (4000-400 cm<sup>-1)<\/sup>. FTIR ini dilengkapi dengan teknologi 2D dimensi analisis korelasi inframerah, di mana spektrum inframerah dari\u00a0 beberapa sampel boleh digabungkan untuk mengetahui komposisi sampel yang lebih kompleks.
