iOER (or Accessible OER)
…are resources which allow people with disability, or those who may have additional barriers to learning, to access open content, regardless of their difficulty (Zhang, et al., 2020).
UNESCO OER Recommendation
“In building inclusive knowledge societies, Open Educational Resources (OER) can support quality education that is equitable, inclusive, open and participatory as well as enhance academic freedom and professional autonomy of teachers by widening the scope of materials available for teaching and learning” (UNESCO, 2019, p. 4)
The Recommendation addresses five objectives:
Building capacity of stakeholders to create, access, re-use, adapt and redistribute OER;
Developing supportive policy;
Encouraging inclusive and equitable quality OER;
Nurturing the creation of sustainability models for OER;
